Swansea City sign Borja Baston from Atletico Madrid for £15m
Swansea City have completed the club record signing of Atletico Madrid striker Borja Baston for £15.5million.
Baston has signed a four-year deal at the Liberty Stadium and will wear the No. 10 shirt for the Swans.
The 23-year-old scored 18 goals while on loan at Eibar last season, and the fee paid for him exceeds the previous record of £12m for Wilfried Bony.
Swansea’s previous record transfer was the £12m they paid for Wilfried Bony in 2013, and Baston has vowed to repay the faith shown in him.

“There is pressure, but it is good pressure,” Baston told Swansea’s official website, via a translator.
“I want to repay the transfer fee paid for me with good performances and results.
“It’s difficult to set a target of goals, but my mantra is take it goal by goal. Hopefully I can score a lot.”
“It is the most important decision of my career. I want to settle and spend several years here.
“I am very happy to be here. I am eager to contribute to the success of the team.”
The former Spain U19 international played only once for Atletico after his progress was slowed by a serious knee injury.
However, Baston has had successful loan spells at Murcia, Huesca, Deportivo La Coruna, Real Zaragoza and Eibar, scoring 18 goals in 36 La Liga appearances for the latter last season.
Baston is the second forward to arrive in the space of a week after Fernando Llorente joined on a two-year deal from Sevilla on Friday.
