Swansea agree fee for Ajax defender Mike van der Hoorn
Swansea City have agreed a fee of around £2m deal with Dutch giants Ajax to sign defender Mike van der Hoorn.
The move is now subject to the player agreeing personal terms.
The 23-year-old centre-back, who has represented the Netherlands at under-21 level, will travel to Wales for negotiations in the coming week.
He told reporters he was delighted with the chance to move to the Premier League, adding: “Swansea are a great club.”
The former Dutch U21 international cost Ajax £3.2m when he moved from Utrecht three years ago.
Van der Hoorn would be Swansea’s first signing of the summer, having sold forward Alberto Paloschi to Italian club Atalanta earlier this month.
Swansea will go into the 2016-17 campaign under new backers, having been taken over by an American consortium.
