Tribhuvan Army Club claim Nepal cup
Tribhuvan Army Club claimed the title of the fourth Nepal Cup Football Tournament beating Nepal Police Club 2-0 in the final played at the Kampa Chaur in Chitwan on Monday.
Bharat Khawas and Suman Aryal scored a goal each for the Army.
Khawas opened the scoring in the 19th minute when he beat as many as three players before firing home from the box.
Army’s Suman Aryal scored with a header in the 30th minute to double the lead.
Police wasted a chance to equalize in the 24th minute as Dinesh Gurung’s attempt was saved by Army goalkeeper Bikesh Kuthu.
TAC earned Rs 300,000 along with the trophy, while runners-up NPC received Rs 200,000 and trophy.
Army’s Suman Aryal won the man-of-the-match award, while Khawas was the highest scorer of the tournament with three goals.
All three players were rewarded with Rs 10,000 each.
