Three Star defeated Flamingo FC 6-1 in Opening match

National champion Three Star defeated Flamingo FC of Nagaland 6-1 in its first group-stage match of 64th edition of the Bordoloi Trophy played at the Nehru Stadium, Guwahati, Assam on Monday.
Three Star took the lead in the fourth minute with striker Martin’s goal. The Nigerian scored his personal second of the match in the 22th minute. Midfielder Nirajan Khadka scored in the 39th minute to extend the lead by 3-0. Awang pulled back a goal in the 43th minute for Nagaland to make it 3-1 before the half time.
In the second half, Three Star increased its pressure on the Indian opponent and as a result Buddha Chemjong scored in the 51st minute to make the scoreline 4-1. Sunil Bal and captain Bikram Lama scored a goal each in the 73th and 80th minute respectively to help Three Star register the comprehensive 6-1 win.
Three Star will next face Oil India FC in another match of Group A on September 23.
Guwahati FC is organizing the championship, which has a winning purse of Nrs 16,00,000.
