Sirish Gurung agree Bhat Bhateni’s one year sponsorship deal

Bhat Bhateni Supermarket signed an agreement with Swimmer Shirish Gurung for a one year sponsorship deal during a function organized in Kathmandu on Thursday.
As per the agreement, the 17-year-old swimmer will receive Rs 100,000 each month for a period of one year.
The contract will be valid for a year. Following the contract, Sirish also became the first Nepali player to get the highest amount as abrand ambassador.
The 17-year old will also be competing in the 100 m freestyle in the Rio Olympics, which will begin on August 5.
Sirish Gurung and Bhat Bhateni Supermarket Chairman and Managing Director Min Bahadur Gurung signed the Memorandum of understanding.
As per the agreement, Sirish could be used in advertisement and promotion of Bhat Bhateni Supermarket. BBSM will provide sports kits for all domestic and international tournaments.
Sirish will wear those kits in any event he participates in. Bhat Bhateni Supermarket will also provide Sirish with additional amount of Rs 10,000 for each national record he sets.
Speaking after the signing ceremony, Sirish said that he was pleased with the signing.
“I am pleased for two reasons – I will be playing in the Rio Olympics for the first time and also big shopping complex of the country like Bhat Bhateni Supermarket made be brand ambassador,” he said.
“I wish to take Nepali swimming to new heights and such type of sponsorships will definitely motivate players,” Sirish said.
Bhatbhateni MD Gurung shared that he achieved success in business due to hard work, honesty and patience and also suggested that Sirish could achieve higher level of success if he dedicates himself to the game with similar passion. “Sirish has achieved success at young age and he could make the nation proud even at international level,” he said.
Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha said that the tie-up between Sirish and Bhatbhateni was a good news for the whole Nepali sports fraternity. “NOC will always motivate and welcome private sector’s entry in Nepali sports,” Shrestha said.
President of Nepal Swimming Association Ashok Bajracharya said he had high hopes from Shirish Gurung and Gaurika Singh. “With these swimmers, we have aimed at getting qualification in 2020 Olympic Games and also win four gold medals in the 13th SA Games,” Bajracharya said.
