Sankata Club wins 19th Tilottama Gold Cup title
CMG Sankata Club has won the title of Tilottama Gold Cup held in Butwal.
Sankata club defeated Nepal Army Club 2-1 in the final played at ANFA Technical Center at Devinagar.
Nirajan Khadka scored the match winning goal in the 85th minute for Sankata. The teams played 1-1 draw till the half time.
Nepal Army Club took lead in 30th minute through Rajeev Gurung. Nirajan Khadka scored the equalizer goal in the 45+1 minute.
This is the third title of the season for Sankata. Sankata had defeated the Army Club in the finals of Bikas Running Shield in Chitwan and Ruslan Simara Gold Cup and clinched the knock-out titles.
The winner received Rs 555,555, while runners-up TAC received Rs 333,333.
Dilip Chhetri of the host team Rupandehi XI was was named the best player of the tournament and received a scooter.
Sankata’s Binay Shrestha was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament and Nirajan Khadka bagged the prize for the best midfielder. Army’s Hiranya Magar and Deep Lama received awards of the best defender and the highest scorer respectively.
The individual prize winners got Rs 15,000 each. Sankata’s Salyan Khadgi took the best coach award and earned Rs 20,000.
Sankata’s coach Salyan Khadgi was named the best coach of the tournament.
