Roma sign Thomas Vermaelen from Barcelona on a season-long loan
Thomas Vermaelen has joined Roma on a season-long loan from Barcelona.
The former Arsenal captain joined Barca for £15m but made just 21 appearances in all competitions in two years due to injuries.
Vermaelen, who signed a five-year contract with the Spanish club, had to wait until the final match of his first season to make his first-team debut after undergoing thigh surgery.
