Paris Saint-Germain sign Thomas Meunier

Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of Thomas Meunier from Club Brugge.

Belgium right-back Meunier, has signed a four-year contract at the Parc des Princes.

The 24-year-old right-back was a key part of the Belgium side which reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2016 and, just two days after the Rode Duivels’ elimination at the hands of Wales, he has become the third signing PSG have made this summer after Grzegorz Krychowiak and Hatem Ben Arfa.

Meunier, who has been linked with Napoli, Torino and West Ham, told PSG’s official website: “I’m very honoured to have been chosen by Paris Saint-Germain to come and strengthen a squad composed of numerous great players.

“I’m coming to Paris with a huge desire to continue my progression, to experience some very intense moments and to win titles. And I can’t wait to discover a stadium as legendary as the Parc des Princes.”

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi was pleased that the club had secured their third summer signing.

“I’m happy to welcome a player of great potential in Thomas Meunier,” Al-Khelaifi said. “With his previous club, the Belgian champions, like with his national team, Thomas has been able to demonstrate qualities that this year provoked the interest of a lot of European clubs.

“He made a strong decision to join Paris Saint-Germain, with whom he will from now on share his big ambitions.”
