Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel signs new five-year contract
Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has signed a new five-year contract, the Premier League champions have announced.
Schmeichel, 29, who played every game as the Foxes won last season’s Premier League — has been with the club since 2011 and made 220 appearances for the Foxes.

He told the club’s website: “I’m just buzzing and I can’t wait for the season to get started. It was a very easy decision.
“It was a case of coming back after winning the Premier League and making sure that the hunger was the same within myself and the squad. I’ve come back absolutely convinced that this is the place for me to be.
“We’ve taken some massive steps and ever since I arrived it’s been fantastic. I’ve loved being here from minute one.”
The new deal keeps him at the club until 2021.
Schmeichel came through the Manchester City youth programme and had loan spells at Darlington, Bury, Falkirk, Cardiff City, Coventry City and Notts County before moving to Leeds.
He has made nearly 400 appearances in all competitions.
