Hull City sign Will Keane from Manchester United on a three-year deal
Hull City have completed the signing of striker Will Keane from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee on a three-year contract.
“I’m delighted to move here,” said Keane.
“It’s a fresh start and a new challenge for me, so I’m really looking forward to getting things underway.”
Keane joined United at the age of 11 and made his senior debut in December 2011.
The 23-year-old scored the first goal of the Jose Mourinho era at Old Trafford, in the pre-season friendly win at Wigan Athletic, but has been allowed to leave in order to obtain first-team football.
The spearhead of the 2011 FA Youth Cup-winning team, he battled back from a serious knee injury and featured against Sunderland and Shrewsbury Town last season, only to hurt his groin while hitting the woodwork in the FA Cup fifth-round tie at the Greenhous Meadow.
He has had loan spells at Wigan, QPR and Sheffield Wednesday and reunites with Mike Phelan at Hull.
A number of clubs had expressed an interest in Keane, but Hull caretaker boss Mike Phelan worked with the player during his time as assistant manager to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and won the race for his signature.
Hull earlier completed the signing of Ryan Mason from Tottenham Hotspur and Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall.
