Ben Chilwell signs new five-year deal with Leicester City
Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell has signed a new five-year contract with the Premier League Champions.
The England U21 left-back had been linked with a move to Liverpool, having caught the eye on loan with Huddersfield last season and during pre-season.
But the 19-year-old has now signed fresh terms with Claudio Ranieri’s side, earning a deal that ties him to the club until the summer of 2021.
The full-back had been entering the final year of his contract at Leicester. Chilwell played in two FA Cup matches last season after a loan to Huddersfield, but he could not displace Christian Fuchs in the Premier League-winning Foxes side.

“It’s fantastic news for us. Ben is a player with a big future and I am very happy that future will be with Leicester City,” Claudio Ranieri told the club’s official website.
“Ever since I arrived in Leicester, Ben has been a young player that has shown a lot of promise. He has all the attributes you would want in a defender and shows a lot of maturity for a player of just 19.
“He has come back for preseason in very good condition and is already showing that he is ready to push for a place in the team.”
Chilwell, who is on Leicester’s tour to the United States, played in three cup games for the Foxes last season and made eight appearances for Huddersfield in the Sky Bet Championship.
