Barcelona Sign Samuel Umtiti from Lyon
Barcelona have signed France defender Samuel Umtiti from Lyon for €25m on a five-year deal.
The 22-year-old France international, who played three games at Euro 2016, will stay with the La Liga champions until 2021 and has a €60m buy-out clause.
A statement on the club’s official website said he would arrive in Barcelona for a photo session on Thursday and undergo his medical on Friday morning before putting pen to paper on the contract.

The Cameroon-born centre-back has spent his entire career at Lyon but after impressing during the latter stages of the European Championship, where he came into the side for the quarter-final against Iceland, he has been lured to the Nou Camp.
Umtiti, who made 170 appearances for Lyon after making his debut for the club in the 2011-12 season, can play at centre-back or left-back.
Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu had confirmed last month that an agreement had been reached with Lyon for the player to join after Euro 2016.
Umtiti made his international debut in France’s 5-2 quarterfinal win over Iceland before featuring in the 2-0 semifinal victory over Germany as well as the 1-0 defeat to Portugal in the final.
