APF and Eastern Region enter into final
Armed Police Club (APF) and Eastern Region enter into the final match of women’s T20 cricket tournament under the Seventh National Games winning their respective semifinal matches played at the DVM School ground in Itahari on Monday.
APF beat Mid-western Region by 83 runs in the first semi-final match.
Put to bat first after losing the toss, APF scored 120-4 in 20 overs before Mid-western Region reached 37-9.
Sarita, who cracked an unbeaten 43 runs off 45 balls, shared an 83-run stand for the fourth wicket with the highest scorer of the match Karuna Bhandari, who made 45 runs off 40 deliveries.
Opener Jyoti Pandey contributed 11 runs. Karuna Bhandari took three wickets and Binu Buda Magar claimed two wickets for APF.
In the run chase, none of the batswomen of the Mid-western Region team managed to reach double digit figure.
Laxmi Chaudhary, Trishna Singh and Mamta Thapa contributed six runs each.
Anita Chaudhary and Sharmila Magar took two wickets each for Mid-western Region.
In another semi-final match, Eastern Region beat Central Region by 60 runs.
Kajol Shrestha made 55 runs off 51 balls for Eastern Region as it scored 115/3.
While Roma Thapa scored 34 off 44 balls.
In the run chase, Central Region was all out for 55 runs in 19.5 overs. Shanti Khatiwada of Central Region became the only batswomen to reach double digit figure as it lost other batswomen too cheaply.
Santoshi Chaudhary, Kabita Gautam and Rashmi Chaulagain of Eastern Region took two wickets each, while Sabnam Rai, Saraswoti Chaudhary and Shanti Chaudhary claimed one each.
The final and the third place match will be played on Tuesday.
