Nepal defeated Iran 3-0 in the ongoing match of Hero gold cup

Nepal’s women football team secured a 3-0 victory against Iran in its last league match in the Hero Gold Cup at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday Evening.

Goals by Anita Basnet and Sabitri Bhandari have given Nepal lead in the Hero Gold Cup at Kalinga stadium, Bhuveneshwor, India.

Despite the win, Nepal now waits for the results of the game between Myanmar and India later this evening.

Nepal and Myanmar have six points while India have three points. Iran have crashed out from the league with zero point.

Nepal will qualify if Myanmar beats or plays draw against India later this evening. India needs to beat Myanmar by higher goal difference to reach the final of the tournament.

Earlier, Nepal had lost to Myanmar 3-0 and defeated India 2-1 in the fourth match of the 2019 Gold Cup.

The final match will be played on February 15.
