Sankata Club win Simara Gold Cup title

Sankata Club win the title of the Ruslan 8th Simara Gold Cup at the Simara Stadium on Saturday.

Sankata Club defeated Tribhuvan Army Club 4-2 on penalty shootout after the final match ended on 1-1 draw in the regulation period of 90 minutes and extra 20 minutes.

Balkrishna Shrestha 47th minute strike put the Army Club ahead but Amit Tamang scored the equalizer goal in 56th minute in a free kick.

Raj Paudel, Anil Gurung, Amit Tamang and Kuldeep Karki converted their shots for Sankata. Bishwo Adhikari’s penalty kick was saved by Army goalie Sushil Srivastav.

Santosh Tamang and Hiranya Magar converted their shots for Nepal Army. Jitendra Karki and Deepak Gurung penalty kick was saved by Sankata goalie Binay Shrestha.

Amit Tamang was declared the man of the match and received Rs 5000.

The winner received Rs 5,51,000 while the runner-up was rewarded with Rs 2,50, 000.

The tournament was organized by Nawa Jana Jagriti Yuwa Club.
