NRT on top despite being draw
NRT played a 1-1 draw with Khumaltar while RCT were held to a 2-2 draw by Samajik in the Sahid Smarak ‘B’ Division League 2073 in APF Stadium, Halchowk on Monday.
In the first match of the day, RCT went ahead with goal from Shekhar Limbu in the 15th minute but Samajik’s top scorer Bhuwan Basnet took his season’s tally to 5 goals after finding the back of net in the 41st minute. RCT regained the lead in the 68th minute as Dipesh Thapa Magar scored in the 68th minute. Samajik again leveled the score in the 72nd minute as Dinesh Rai scored first goal for the club. The draw means NRT are now 4th in the table with 16 points.
In the second match of the day, NRT had chance to develop a three point lead at the top before the match. Sushil Lama scored for NRT in the 77th minute as Khumaltar Youth Club went down 1-0. But, Rajendra Deula, utlising the pass from Thakur Shrestha leveled the score for Khumaltar in the third minute of second half injury time.
As the matches of 8th round are completed, NRT are in the top with 18 points while Shree Kumari are in the second position with 17 points. Chyasal and RCT (both 16), Pulchowk and Satdobato (both 13), Boys Union (12), Khumaltar(11), Bansbari (10), Nayabasti, Khumaltar and MYA (all 7) are consecutively positioned in the table. Samajik (4) and Mahabir (1) are in the relegation spots.
