Philippines beat Nepal 4-1
Philippines defeated Nepal 4-1 in their first match of AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers played at the Rizal Stadium in Manila on Tuesday.
Nepal’s Bikram Lama was sent off in the 15th minute of the first half. Nepali goalkeeper Kiran Chemjong saved a penalty in the 15th minute but Captain Philip Younghusband scored in the 22nd and 25th minutes against the 10-men Nepal. Iain Ramsay scored third goal in the 28th minute.
Bishal Rai reduced the margin in the injury time of the first half. Javier Patino scored the fourth for the Philipines in the 72nd minute.
Nepal will now play couple of home matches in Kathmandu in June and September.
Nepal are grouped with Philippines, Tajikstan and Yemen.
